Judo For All UK

From no online presence to a widely referenced home for traditional judo in the UK

Judo For All UK is a traditional judo governing body based in North London. We have worked alongside it from its earliest days, on planning, branding, print and content as well as the website, and moved it to WordPress with online event booking so the whole team can run it.

The starting point

Judo For All UK began in North London with no members, no profile and no online presence. It had to explain why it existed, attract clubs and members, and build credibility quickly.

As JFAUK grew, its first website couldn't keep up. Only a few people could update it, and there was no way to book events online.

More than a website

We have worked alongside JFAUK from its earliest days: planning, branding and graphic design, posters and printed literature, and content as well as the website itself.

Web design: a site the whole team can run

In 2012 we built JFAUK's first website on Joomla and grew its traffic through SEO and marketing. In 2018 we moved it to WordPress so more of the team could edit it, added online event booking, and ran a full round of SEO alongside the move so its search visibility carried across. A redesign is now under way.

Sobell Judo Club, one of JFAUK's member clubs, is a client too: we built its first website and have looked after it ever since.

SEO: a credible presence, not just traffic

The aim was never traffic for its own sake. JFAUK needed a credible, easy-to-find presence for clubs, members and anyone researching traditional judo. Its syllabus, grading and glossary pages make the site a reference for the sport as well as for the organisation.

Results

  • Ranks for 279 UK searches, including belt orders, grading syllabuses and judo terms, with page-one positions for searches such as “junior judo belts” and “judo belts order UK”.
  • Linked to by 675 other websites, a sign of how widely the organisation is referenced.
  • An established governing body for traditional judo, grown from an organisation with no members.

Figures from Ubersuggest, September 2026.

“AIM have been with Judo For All UK from the very beginning, from our first posters to the website we have today. They understand what we stand for, and they've made sure clubs and judoka can always find us.”
