Mangia Bene

Family Italian restaurant

How online ordering kept a Chapel Market favourite going through lockdown

The challenge

New owners took over in 2014 with a restaurant on a busy market street but no website, no online presence and no reputation of their own. Then in 2020 lockdown closed the dining room overnight, and they needed a way to keep selling food.

What we did

We built the website from scratch on WordPress, including the research, photography, copy and menus, which we still update. We run SEO and marketing through Google Business Profile and set up a review system. When lockdown hit, we set up Gloria Food online ordering with separate apps for the kitchen, manager, drivers and customers, installed the hardware on site, and later added pre-orders and table reservations. We also produce all the restaurant's print.

“AIM have been with us since the day we took over. They built our website, took the photos and still update our menus. When lockdown closed the restaurant, they got online ordering running for us and we kept cooking. I can't imagine running Mangia Bene without them.”

Golden Ride Rentals

Vehicle rentals and tours

Destination landing pages and local SEO that grew traffic by 60%

The challenge

A strong local reputation, but the website wasn't reaching tourists while they planned their trips, so research wasn't turning into bookings.

What we did

We built more than eight destination landing pages for places like Lara Bay and the Adonis Baths waterfalls, optimised the Google Business Profile, ran a local citation and link-building campaign and made technical SEO improvements.

“Great experience working with AIM Digital. From the very first call their team was professional and genuinely interested in learning my business goals. They created a clear strategy that delivered results: better online visibility and growth. What stood out most is their transparency and communication. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a reliable, results-driven digital marketing partner.”

Seasons and Blossoms

Organic greengrocer

From a decade-old Squarespace site to a WordPress site ready for online orders

The challenge

We built the shop's first website, a static Squarespace site, in 2014, and it had gone untouched for over 10 years. It looked tired, and the owner wanted a website that could promote the business, be updated in-house and start taking orders online.

What we did

We backed up the static site, moved it and the domain off Squarespace, and built a custom responsive WordPress theme. We migrated the content and added on-site SEO, social links and an online shop ready to launch for a set range of products.

“We'd been stuck with an old website nobody could change for years. AIM moved everything over in three days, and now we finally have a site that looks like our shop and that we can update ourselves.”

FortSafe

Safe deposit boxes

Educational content that created demand for a safe deposit box provider in Cyprus

The challenge

A security business where trust is everything, needing a website and search presence that reassure people before they ever visit.

What we did

We built a clear, professional website and the SEO foundations, then, once FortSafe ranked first for its target searches, switched to educational content that created demand for private safe deposit boxes.

“AIM got us to the top of Google, then told us honestly that wasn't enough on its own. The educational content they created brought us far more customers than the rankings ever did.”

Ocean & Architectural Models

Precision scale model makers

A showroom worthy of museum-quality models

The challenge

The company had no working website, and needed one that could show precision models to an international client base in shipping, offshore energy, aviation and architecture.

What we did

We designed several prototypes, then built the chosen design on WordPress with the custom elements the client asked for, including revolving clocks showing the time in five locations. The site centres on a portfolio of commissions organised by sector, from cargo ships and classic liners to offshore installations, aircraft and architecture, each with its own page, plus a filterable gallery, a private commissions section and pages on the build process, craftsmanship and the investment value of a model.

“Our models are made to museum standard, and AIM built a website that does them justice. Clients from all over the world see our work there before they get in touch.”

Sampson's Cuts

Barbershop, established 1850

A new website and local SEO that doubled organic traffic in 9 months

The challenge

A barbershop with more than 170 years of history and a strong local reputation, but no website: its only presence online was a Facebook page, so few walk-ins came from search.

What we did

We designed a bespoke website that keeps the shop's heritage character, built a local SEO strategy around Holloway Road, Highbury and Islington searches, optimised content for location terms and streamlined the technical backend.

“Before AIM, if you searched for a barber on Holloway Road you wouldn't have found us. Now customers tell me they found us on Google, and the phone rings far more than it used to. They kept the feel of the shop, and they're easy to deal with.”

Small business website questions

Something else on your mind? Ask us directly.

01

How long does a small business website take?

Six weeks for a typical small business site, from first call to launch. The usual delays are photos and content, and we help with both.

02

Can I update the site myself?

Yes. We build on Webflow for design-led sites and on WordPress for sites with lots of content or advanced plugins. We train you before launch, so you can change text, images and offers yourself.

03

Do I have to write the content?

Not if you'd rather not. We write the words for your pages from a few simple questions, so they read well for customers and for Google, or you write your own with our guidance. Full SEO copywriting is available as an add-on.

04

What about photos and a logo?

Real photos make the biggest difference to how much visitors trust you, and they're the most common thing holding a launch up. Our photographer can come for a couple of hours as an add-on, or we tell you exactly what to shoot yourself. Our in-house designer can create a logo if you need one.

05

What affects the cost?

Small business websites start from £1,000 on WordPress, and from £2,500 on Webflow for design-led sites. Either way you get a fixed price in writing before we begin. The features you need, such as booking or online orders, and the content involved are quoted after your free website review.

06

Should I just use a website builder?

You can, but track your hours and price them at your own rate. One owner started building her own site in December and ten months later still hadn't finished it, so she asked us to build it. A site built with a plan is usually live sooner, ranks better and costs less in the end.

07

Will my website show up on Google?

Every site starts with keyword research, an SEO structure and your Google Business Profile, so you're set up to be found. Already busy on word of mouth? That proves your service is good, and every new customer from search becomes another person telling their friends. Ongoing local SEO helps you climb further.

08

What happens after the first year?

Your first year of maintenance is included. If we host your site on WordPress, hosting is £200 a year after that. Webflow sites run on Webflow's own hosting, on a plan in your name. Either way, you can keep making changes yourself.
