An online shop and SEO that doubled online sales and lifted in-store sales 30% in Paphos

The starting point

Markos Pets sells pet supplies, aquariums and pond equipment from its shop in Paphos, and builds ponds for customers in the area. It was up against large retailers for searches across Cyprus, and it also needed to be the first name people found when they searched for a pet shop in Paphos.

Web design: an online shop built to sell and rank

We built Markos Pets' online shop, with clear categories for each type of pet and product, so shoppers and Google can reach any product in a few clicks. The structure was planned alongside the SEO strategy, so every category and product page had a clear search to win.

SEO: national reach, local focus

We ran SEO on two levels.

• Across Cyprus. We built pages for each major city in Cyprus, alongside general pages targeting the whole island, so Markos Pets competes for online orders from anywhere in the country.
• Around the Paphos store. Local searches were focused on the physical shop. Services only offered in Paphos, such as pond building, got their own landing pages and were added to the shop's Google Business Profile.

Alongside this we wrote content around the topics pet owners search for and built links from high-authority sites.

Results

• #1 on Google for “pet shop Paphos” and #3 for “pet shop Cyprus”.
• Organic traffic up 300% in the first 12 months, 2023 to 2024.
• Search visits still climbing in the latest period, from 1,900 to 4,600+ a month between July 2025 and September 2026 (Ubersuggest).
• Online sales up 100%.
• In-store sales up 30%.

The work paid off in the shop as well as online. The same searches that bring in online orders from across Cyprus send local customers through the door in Paphos.
