A showroom worthy of museum-quality models

The starting point

Ocean & Architectural Models has been building precision scale models for more than 50 years, for an international client base in shipping, offshore energy, aviation and architecture. Its work is museum-quality, but it had no working website to show it.

Prototypes first

We designed several prototypes so the client could compare directions before committing. The client chose the design that is live today and asked for one custom touch: revolving clocks at the foot of the home page showing the time in five locations, reflecting its international client base.

A showroom for the work

We built the site on WordPress in 4 weeks, around the models themselves.

• A portfolio organised by sector: cargo ships, classic liners, cruise and ferry, naval vessels, offshore installations, aircraft, and architecture and real estate, with a page for each commission.
• A filterable gallery so visitors can browse the work their way.
• A private commissions section.
• Supporting pages on the build process, craftsmanship and the investment value of a model.
• A full-width image slider on the home page.

Results

The site has presented Ocean & Architectural Models' work to clients around the world since 2014, and we still host and support it.
